Brad Strause, Jeff Trippe, and Bob McKillop will share the stage at Mayo Street Arts on Wednesday, August 1, each taking their turn at heart string yanking and foot-stomp instigation, in an evening of original songwriting.
Brad Strause is a local songwriter and performer with a great studio CD release under his belt and another one on the way. Chris Busby of The Bollard says of Brad, “His voice is as real as the hand in front of your face, and he sings with an honesty that will bring tears to your eyes.” strauseandcompany.com <http://strauseandcompany.com>
Jeff Trippe is the talented multi-instrumentalist and harmony vocalist in the great local acoustic string band, “The Mutineers”. He is also an accomplished songwriter and solo performer, with two CD releases of his own. He’ll bring a bit of southern charm and tradition to the evening, along with contemporary melodies and top-shelf picking on a variety of stringed instruments. jefftrippe.com <http://jefftrippe.com>
Bob McKillop is passionate about songwriting and songwriters. He writes songs that are a mix of folk and traditional country music, often with a humorous twist. Bob released a studio CD a few years ago, and his songs have appeared in a documentary film about rural Maine towns. bobmckillop.com <http://bobmckillop.com>
The evening is sponsored by Dr. Caitlin Morrisroe of Absolute Health Chiropractic. Dr. Cait loves the city of Portland and the local artist community, and is proud to help bring the work of these local songwriters to the Portland audience. absolutehealthchiropractic.org <http://absolutehealthchiropractic.org>
