Greetings Maine Marimba Community!
It is with great excitement that we announce the offering of a beginning marimba class for adults starting on Wednesday, October 10th right here in Portland at Mayo Street Arts (10 Mayo Street). The group will meet every week from 6-7:30 for six weeks, culminating in a performance during the last session on November 21st (no class on Halloween for parents). We will be studying the vibrant music of Zimbabwe (as well as South Africa and Congo). This is a great opportunity for aspiring musicians to make music in a relaxed atmosphere and experience the joy of music-making as a band member. All levels are welcome and encouraged to join. Total investment for this six-week session is $160. Matt Wasowski is a licensed music educator who has traveled throughout the world performing, teaching and studying music.
