The Middle Eastern Jazz Project is an ensemble comprised of musicians in the Portland area from both the Jazz and Middle Eastern music scenes. The goal of this Ensemble is to successfully combined the core elements of jazz and middle-eastern classical and folk music. Together we experiment with the different harmonic rhythmic and improvisational elements of both genres in order to create a completely new sound.

Part of MSA’s International Heritage Series. Based on the idea that music is inherent to strengthening community in cultures around the world, the series will celebrate regional music and dance traditions.
