Welcome to the MSA Staff, Nicole!

Earlier this month, Nicole Byrne joined the MSA staff as our Advancement & Communications Manager!

Nicole arrived in Maine by way of Kansas, by way of Maine, by way of New Jersey. Along the journeys, they earned their BFA and MFA in Creative Writing, focusing on poetry. Her experience has spanned across varied topics including storytelling festivals, journalism, luxury Italian yarn, literary publishing, and humanitarian causes, just to name a few.

Prior to joining Mayo Street Arts, they supported Maine’s local food economy through marketing and community engagement work at the Portland Food Co-op.

Nicole first discovered MSA in 2016 when they wandered in for a screening of Paul Zaloom’s Dante’s Inferno, and has been coming back for performances and music ever since.

Outside of MSA, you can typically find Nicole enacting culinary experiments, messing around with indie games, or befriending neighborhood cats.

If you have questions about supporting MSA via donations, business sponsorships, or in-kind gifts, or if you’re an artist/organization/partner we’ve worked with and have news to share, you can reach out to Nicole at nicole@mayostreetarts.org.
