Friday, Nov 12 & Saturday, Nov 13 at 7:00 PM

Hear ye! Hear ye! King Friday, post-monarch, deposed and living in squalor beneath an old vaudeville house requests thy presence to witness the unveiling of new puppet works and puppet works-in-progress at an impromptu, after-hours, puppet-roadhouse show.

King Friday’s Dungeon Puppet Slam is an opportunity for emerging and experienced puppeteers and physical artists to share works-in-progress, experimental projects, and other acts that dance outside of the family-friendly mainstream puppet circuit.

The show will feature live music by the Ideal Maine Social Aid & Sanctuary Band and will be emceed by master clown/magician/artist/fool Michael Trautman. Artwork is by Lin Snow.

King Friday’s Dungeon Puppet Slam is part of the national Puppet Slam Network created by Heather Henson, and curated by local Maine puppeteers.

Whether this is your first foray into the dungeon or you’re a veteran of depravity, you’ll be tantalized and tickled by spicy skits, short films, and other surprises devised for your viewing pleasure. The dungeon is never the same sprawl twice!

MSA is Maine’s de facto puppet hub, and provides multifaceted support for puppet arts practitioners including opportunities to see world-class shows, participate in classes with puppet professionals, network with peers, and share their work on our stage.
