Puerto Rican Folk Music & Traditions Workshop (FREE)

SATURDAY, NOV 5 — Doors at 2:30 PM; Workshop begins at 3:00 PM

Join cuatro player and composer FABIOLA MENDÉZ in a FREE music workshop about Puerto Rican folk music and traditions. Whether it’s call and response, learning different rhythms, chanting, or dancing, this interactive workshop will facilitate your understanding and appreciation for Puerto Rican grooves and traditions.

All ages and abilities are welcome. Advanced registration is recommended.

This workshop is part of a collaboration between Mayo Street Arts and the East End Community School. This MSA-EECS Partnership is a portion of a year-round approach toward engagement with our neighbors in East Bayside. A committee of elementary students and faculty helps to select artists and tailor workshops to support classroom curriculum.
