Spring Season (Mar 2 – May 11, 2022)

This spring season focuses on preparing for our Spring Student Showcase on May 7 at Mayo Street Arts! The Repertory and Tangos de Triana classes allow students who wish to perform in the spring showcase to spend the spring session polishing their dance(s). The Beginner class welcomes those who are new to flamenco to start at the beginning and learn foundational steps, techniques, and rhythms without the goal of performing in this year’s students’ show.

Flamenco for Beginners

WELCOMES ALL bodies and abilities who are brand new to flamenco or who have recently embarked on their journey into flamenco dance. We will focus on the foundational techniques, movements, rhythms, and structures of flamenco dance and of flamenco as an art form. No experience is necessary!

Flamenco Repertory (Intermediate/Advanced)

RESERVED for all intermediate and advanced students who are performing in the Student Showcase on May 7, 2022. Students will practice performing and polishing their choreographies, learn palmas to accompany other students’ pieces, and learn about the many styles that will be performed.

Tangos de Triana Flamenco Choreography Class (All Levels)

Open to all students who have been studying this choreography in the fall and/or winter sessions.

In this all-levels class, focus on finishing and polishing Tangos de Triana choreography in preparation for performing this group piece in the Spring Student Showcase. You do not need to have learned the whole Tangos de Triana to take this class. All students who learn all or part of the Tangos de Triana are invited to perform in the Student Showcase performance at Mayo Street Arts on May 7, 2022!
