Mayo Street Arts Selected as a Lowe’s Hometowns Grant Recipient

Mayo Street Arts has been awarded a $110,000 grant from Lowe’s Hometowns for 2024 to make much needed improvements in its 134-year-old former Danish Lutheran church building. Projects include insulation and drainage system updates, siding, trim, and foundation repairs, and HVAC renovations.

Each year through 2026 Lowe’s selects 100 large-scale community projects, chosen from consumer nominations, to be completed in partnership with local nonprofits, Lowe’s store associates and community volunteers. Additionally, nearly 1,700 additional projects are selected and completed by Lowe’s associates across the country.

This funding will enable Mayo Street Arts to reduce its carbon footprint, provide more control over the internal temperatures of the building, and give the building new life for its next 134 years on Mayo Street.
